FAQS

Private Helicopter Transfers and Charters

Booking & Reservations
How far in advance should I book a helicopter charter?

We accommodate everything from last-minute requests to bookings made months in advance. During Costa Rica’s peak travel season, we recommend booking early to secure aircraft availability. That said, our team will always do its best to make your flight happen, even on short notice.

Simply contact us through our website, WhatsApp, phone, or email.

Our team will guide you through every step of the booking process. Once your itinerary is confirmed, we’ll prepare your agreement and invoice. Prior to departure, we’ll collect passenger details, weights, and luggage information to complete operational planning.

To confirm your reservation, we require:

  • Full name and identification/passport number for each passenger
  • Passenger weights
  • Number of luggage pieces
  • Approximate luggage size and weight

This information allows our pilots to perform accurate weight and balance calculations and ensure a safe operation.

Payments can be made by bank transfer or credit card.

Full payment is required prior to departure.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

Should weather conditions prevent the operation from taking place, clients may choose to reschedule or receive a refund, less any applicable banking or transaction fees.

Aircraft & Operations
Where does Nacascolo Air fly?

We operate throughout Costa Rica and can also arrange flights throughout Central America.

Our helicopters regularly land at private estates, luxury resorts, marinas, yachts, airports, airfields, and private helipads. If you have a specific destination in mind, simply provide the location or coordinates and our team will evaluate the landing site and prepare a customized quotation.

Absolutely.

We regularly provide direct helicopter transfers from both San José International Airport (SJO) and Liberia International Airport (LIR) to some of Costa Rica’s most exclusive destinations, including Los Sueños, Peninsula Papagayo, Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria, Nekajui, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, JW Marriott Guanacaste, Reserva Conchal, Pacuare Lodge, Hacienda AltaGracia, Sensoria, Namu Retreat, and many others.

At this time, we operate exclusively as a private charter service.

When you charter a helicopter, the entire aircraft is reserved exclusively for you and your guests. Depending on the aircraft selected, a charter can accommodate between 1 and 7 passengers.

Each aircraft includes dedicated luggage space; however, luggage capacity depends on passenger count, route length, fuel requirements, and aircraft type.

Our team will gladly help determine the best luggage solution for your flight.

As a general guideline, we typically require a clear area approximately the size of a football field.

However, every landing site is evaluated individually based on terrain, obstacles, approach paths, and operational conditions. Our pilots will assess each location before approving a landing.

Absolutely. We are proud to be pet friendly and regularly welcome four-legged passengers onboard.

Please let us know in advance so we can help prepare for a comfortable flight experience.

Safety is always our top priority.

If weather forecasts indicate conditions that may affect your flight, our operations team will contact you in advance to discuss alternatives, schedule adjustments, or contingency plans.

Should weather conditions prevent us from operating safely, we will work with you to reschedule your flight or arrange a refund according to our cancellation policy.
